Perth Arena Golden Ticket Raises Another $111,880
27 September 2014

FROM more than 11,000 entries in this year’s draw, Murray White’s ticket was drawn from the barrel this morning to become the Perth Arena Golden Ticket holder for 2015.

Ferndale resident Murray White is the lucky recipient of a double pass to each event at Perth Arena for a year including Roxette, The Eagles, Kylie Minogue, Rod Stewart, Ed Sheeran as well as the Hopman Cup, Perth Wildcats and many more acts yet to be announced.

Perth Arena General Manager Michael Scott said once again the Golden Ticket campaign, in its third year, had been extremely successful raising $111,880 to help children’s charity Radio Lollipop relocate to the new Perth Children’s Hospital in 2015.

“We are very pleased that so many Western Australians have supported Radio Lollipop again this year,” Mr Scott said.

“The Golden Ticket is a unique opportunity for someone like Mr White to be treated to a year of the very best that Perth Arena has to offer – a calendar of concerts, sporting events and great entertainment.”

Radio Lollipop Director Jeanette Shorto said the charity was overwhelmed by the support from Western Australians with many people who purchased tickets sharing their personal stories and experiences with Radio Lollipop.

“Radio Lollipop will celebrate 30 years of service in Western Australia as we move into the Perth Children’s Hospital and it is wonderful that so many people have helped to make sure we are here for another 30 years,” Ms Shorto said.

“With more than $280,000 raised from the Golden Ticket campaigns, we can confidently continue negotiations with the project team to finalise the fitout of the new Radio Lollipop studio and office as well as retain some funds to decommission our studio at PMH, prepare our volunteers for the move and most significantly create a historical record of our 30 years of service.”

Ms Shorto thanked the owner VenuesWest on behalf of taxpayers and AEG Ogden and the thousands of Western Australians who purchased tickets in the raffle.

“Raising the funds for this project was always going to be a challenge and the opportunity to work with Perth Arena has been amazing – they have given Radio Lollipop the ultimate gift and we will be forever grateful.”
