This week is National Volunteers Week. Radio Lollipop Brisbane Volunteer Shirley Murray has been featured in the Children’s Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service Facebook page.

Meet Shirley, who is this month celebrating 18 years of volunteering with Radio Lollipop. As a team leader, Shirley prepares arts and crafts, organises the volunteers and entertains patients. Her team describe her affectionately as “someone who knows exactly how to make children smile.”

Shirley says she thoroughly enjoys meeting the children and helping them get creative with crafts at their bedside and in the playroom: “I have many favourite memories with the children, their families and the past and present Radio Lollipop volunteers,” she said.
