Flying on top of the world!

At Radio Lollipop, we were lucky enough to have a very special visit from a special group of people. 1 Squadron Pilots from the RAAF Amberley Base came to visit Radio Lollipop and the children at the Mater Children’s Hospital. The hospital was abuzz with excitement and activity. The children and pilots had a paper plane making showdown to see who’s handmade planes would fly the furthest. You would think that because the pilots fly super fast Super Hornets, they would be amazing at making paper planes. On the contrary, the kids showed them a thing or two about how it’s done, and in fact out-flew them every time! The pilots also brought in one of their helmets for the kids to try on, which was very popular. And to make things even more exciting, gifts were given to all the kids as well. It was such a great night filled with lots of
energy and definitely provided an extra WOW factor in the studio and on the wards. A big THANK YOU to the 1 Squadron RAAF Pilots that came to visit, Mathew Stade, Adele Merriman, Harry Hayes, Martin Rowe, Sam Crawley and Tim Nelson who not only do a great job for the country, but also for the community.
