The sweet harmonies of Harmony in Paradise Choir were heard throughout the Paediatric Ward at Gold Coast Hospital on the Monday before Christmas. Our very own Radio Lollipop volunteer Lyn Jones is part of the choir so it was great to hear her sing beautifully also. Usually a choir of 40 women, a handful came up to the studio to bring some sweet sounds throughout the ward.
Patients, parents, nurses and even a doctor came to listen and sing along to well-known carols like Away in a Manager, We Wish You a Merry Christmas and a Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. Rudolph was a favourite carol of Tamekas, one of our regular patients, who sang along and had a huge smile across her face the whole time. Her dad showed our volunteers a video of Tameka dancing along the Rudolph when the choir sang last year. The following evening she had some reindeer ears on and had her nose painted red.
Thank you to Harmony in Paradise Choir for taking the time to come and see the children in Gold Coast Hospital this Christmas. You brought so much joy to the ward and we hope youll come back again next year. We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!
