Radio Lollipop in Southampton was involved in a charity fundraiser with a difference. John Goss, a Radio Lollipop volunteer from Bristol, decided as part of Lollipops 30th anniversary to travel the entire length of the United Kingdom, from Lands End to John OGroats. This, a feat in itself, was not enough for John who made sure he completed at least thirty rounds of Crazy Golf in various locations in the UK, one for each year of Radio Lollipop.
On 3rd August he arrived at his fourth golf course of the day, this time in sunny Southampton ready to exhibit his crazy golf skills! Unfortunately for John though, Southampton Lollipop volunteer Michael Cassidy prevailed, with the help of a good dose of luck. After the enthralling game, it was off to the general hospital, as John joined our play session at the studio for the night. It was fun evening had by all, as John (aka DJ Stom) and DJ Magic Mike hosted an impromptu radio show, with special guest Joshua who is now considering a career as a Radio DJ! John left the following morning, charged up for another 6 courses in a day. He finished his tiring, yet enjoyable journey just ten days later.
