Longbenton community college dig deep for sick kids

Longbenton Community College today hosted their community fayre with a large chunk of the profits going to Radio Lollipop Newcastle.

The fayre had an environmental theme and stalls available at the fayre included a giant steady hand game, balloon modelling, bags for life sale, guess the height of the sunflower and of course, the Radio Lollipop lollies stand.

Helen Hudspith, who is a Radio Lollipop volunteer and teacher at the school said of the event

“it was great fun. My tutor group (7HHU) got really involved and were really motivated into raising money for the sick children at our local hospial. I was very proud of their efforts as they all worked hard on the day and lots of unseen preparation went into the event too.”

Radio Lollipop would like to thank Mrs Spence and Miss Parish from the school for organising the fayre and all of the staff and students who took the time to bring in items and run stalls. The current proceeds (from just the Radio Lollipop stand) are £285. This will shortly be boosted by a donation from the overall proceeds of the event.
