Australia zoo’s ploy visits mater children’s hospital

Saturday afternoon brought a big surprise with a visit from Ploy the very talented and very pink elephant. Ploy accompanied by her lovely friend Lynda travelled down from Australia Zoo on the Sunshine Coast to visit the children at the Mater Children’s Hospital in Brisbane.

Ploy and Lynda arrived with a huge basket of goodies including soft toys, pencils big enough to last a lifetime and rubber snakes & crocodiles. These weren’t just a hit with the children but also with the Radio Lollipop team (not mentioning any names). While Lynda chatted and gave toys out to the children Ploy entertained everyone with her tap dancing routines.

A pink elephant isn’t normally spotted in a hospital but Ploy quickly won friends with her hugs, she was particularly popular with Haylee and her antics.

Finally we waved goodbye to Ploy and Lynda and we look forward to welcoming them back to the Mater Children’s Hospital in the future.

A huge thank you to the staff at Australia Zoo, Radio Lollipop team members Jennifer Grant, Renee Dempsey, Anne Schmiede and Sandra Ursino for organising this wonderful afternoon.
