Saturday 11th October saw Radio Lollipop Glasgow set up shop in the Forge Shopping Centre in the Eastend of the city. The roadshow was the first outing from the new fundraisers Ross Elliot and Catherine Caughie, the duo have been working for months on various ventures to raise money for Glasgow. If Saturday’s effort is anything to judge future shows on with these two in charge then we definetly have nothing to worry about as we raised £329.11. This was done through the selling of merchandise and the face painting and hairspraying stall being constantly busy the whole day.
Ross was extremly pleased with the turn out from volunteers and shoppers and had this to say “Raffle tickets sold slowly until I started approaching the public directly and they started selling through the roof. It was a real success and the volunteers worked there little cotton socks off”
This was evident from the crowds who refused to leave even after the music had been switched off! All the volunteers at Radio Lollipop in Glasgow would like to thank the shoppers and staff at the forge who contributed to making the day a Lolli-tastic success!
