Glasgow’s lord provost’s procession

Glasgow’s Volunteer Team took to the streets in July for the Lord Provost’s Procession. With help from What Everyone Wants, the float had everything from giant inflatable bananas to GIANT
microphones and headphones. They were one of
the few organisations who got a commendation
from the city’s Lord Provost.

Also, volunteers took part in the Rotary Club of
Glasgow’s ‘Charifun’ day in the city’s Kelvingrove
Park. Radio Lollipop provided the majority of the
entertainment, with presenters broadcasting from
many strange places including bouncy castles and
children’s rides. With frantic selling of stock and face painting, a great time – as usual – was had by all.

Fundraiser Avril Nicolson masterminded a very
successful raffle over the summer. Facing major
problems like a huge delay in receiving a gaming
license from the city council, it looked like the raffle might have been a flop, but Avril’s tremendous efforts meant that it was a huge success. With big prizes such as tickets to sell-out Robbie Williams and Tom Jones concerts, the raffle raised in excess of £2000.
