The Tunetastic Tuesday team; Lauren, Leah, Edward, Ellie and Caroline faced their fears by climbing up and abseiling down the Avon Gorge, all to raise money for Radio Lollipop.
The challenge, which took place on Sunday 3rd August, raised a grand total of £1080 through sponsorship which will go towards the resources, support, radio and games Radio Lollipop provides for patients and their families when they are often at their lowest ebb.
Speaking of the event, Tuesday Team Leader Ellie Hookham said “it took us a nanosecond to decide what we wanted to do but a little while to build up to actually organising our climb and abseil of the Avon Gorge this August! Having done it however, I am so glad that we did. I found it a personal challenge, and despite one or two wobblies midway up a massive piece of rock, I really feel that I have achieved something. I am also very proud of the rest of my team – they did really well. We aimed to raise £1000 and have seemingly smashed our target thanks to the generosity of others and our fantastic charity being close to many peoples hearts.”
Radio Lollipop Bristol trustee Peter Emery, also showed his support and said “I take my hat off to you and your team for this wonderful effort… a great sum raised for Radio Lollipop.”
