Tuesday 5th September 2017 saw the official handover of the brand new Radio Lollipop Studio at the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital in Johannesburg.
The Studio build was completed in December 2016 and the official handover to the Radio Lollipop South African Board was attended by many Radio Lollipop International representatives and members of the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital. Bruce Uhlhorn, Chairperson of Radio Lollipop International cut the ribbon and handed over the keys for the new Studio to Damian Boyce, Chairperson of Radio Lollipop South African.
The hospital is currently offering day services and clinics and hopes to be fully operational very soon. As soon the hospital is operational, the Radio Lollipop service will be up and running. A Volunteer recruitment campaign is under-way and within a few short hours of the hand-over many Volunteer applications were received.
