Young Lauren Halley (aged 9) amazed Radio Lollipop volunteers in Glasgow by coming into the hospital to donate money to Radio Lollipop. Lauren starred in the promotional video filmed in Yorkhill, by her Dad and as she said on Radio Lollipop ” My dad was doing so much for Radio Lollipop I thought it would be a good idea to help as well. So I organised a charity garage sale and we managed to raise £103.13. I really enjoyed doing this and although it is a small amount I hope it can make a BIG difference.” This was a fantastic effort for a nine year old as she did almost all the work herself For several months she made perfumes, jewellery and bubble bath and collected toys, books and games and videos. She prepared invitations to the sale for neighbours and on the day sold the goods, as well as having hair and make-up stands. It was a very successful day and Glasgow are very grateful to this generous young girl who wanted to help the children in hospital. Thanks Lauren!!

Radio Lollipop Newcastle is proud to announce the arrival of the first summer 2002 Roadshow!

We will be instore at the Sainsbury SavaCentre store Galleries, Washington, on Sunday June 9th from 10 – 4. In

true World Cup fever we will be going Football crazy with competitions and prizes provided by Coke Cola, one of

the world cup big sponsors. We will be running competitions EVERY 15 MINUTES throughout the day, so there will be

plenty of opportunity to win goodies.

Try your hand at our football commentary game, stand by in the queues for our checkout chuck out, have a go at the

Radio Lollipop supermarket scramble, and if you survive all that – theres always the Coke Gargling challenge for

the brave.

All this and more as we dust off the summer party records, iron out the party frocks, all ready for the start of

the Newcastle 2002 summer season.
