The Virgin Blue Brisbane Bullets are great supporters of Radio Lollipop and over the past few weeks we have had a number of the players come in and visit with the children. On the first night Craig Bradshaw, Chris Goulding and Rhys Martin entertained the children. The children, parents and volunteers found it particularly entertaining that Craig Bradshaw standing at 210 cm tall had to duck to go under the curtain railings around each bed. One very fortunate patient got to meet his heros, he is in the wheelchair basketball team and was particularly thrilled to meet the guys.
Last night was another entertaining night on the wards with team captain Sam Mackinnon, CJ Bruton, Mick Hill and Rhys Martin visiting Radio Lollipop Mater. The night commenced with the players having a little one-on-one out on the court with the children from the Child, Youth and Mental Health ward, it was then shoot out time with one of the children winning the first to three.
It was then up on to the other wards to visit the other children. There will be a couple of very unhappy dads who had recently left for the evening who are very big fans of the Virgin Blue Brisbane Bullets who would love to have met the guys. The children took great delight in meeting the guys and most of them had their photo taken with the players. Each child also received an autographed poster from the players as a memento of the visit and will soon receive their photo with a Radio Lollipop magnetic photo frame.
