Queensland’s very own Ambassador Guide Dog Kadin and his handler Lis Foat came in this week to visit the children at the Mater Children’s Hospital.

What a night it was, the Radio Lollipop playroom was crowded with children and their parents wanting to pat Kadin who was extremely well behaved and loved every minute he was there.

Kadin is a 7 year old Ambassador Golden Retriever from Guide Dogs Queensland. Kadin travels around Brisbane attending talks, public functions, children’s groups and schools and of course also visiting with the sick children at the Mater Children’s Hospital. His handler Lis has been puppy raising for over 7 years and has looked after over 31 guide dogs.

It was Magic all around when the Magic Magicianess Jodie visited the Mater Children’s Hospital to perform her magic show in the Radio Lollipop playroom.

The Magic Magicianess (Jodie Swales) has performed for more than 40 000 children throughout Australia and New Zealand. She has enthralled audiences in schools, festivals, fairs and parties with her infectious love of theatre, magic, puppetry and life. The Magicianess Magic show is a delightful mix of magic, theatre, puppetry, storytelling and music. The show encourages children to value their individuality.

The show includes lots of audience participation with a fantastic flying carpet that one of the children from the audience was able to float on. The laughter from the children was heard echoing through the corridors and into the Radio Lollipop studio.

Jodie travelled over 2 hours from the Sunshine Coast to Brisbane to perform her magic show for the sick children and their families at the Mater Children’s Hospital in Brisbane. Our sincere thanks to the Magic Magicianess for donating her time to perform the show for us and we look forward to her return real soon.
