Snuggle® is on mission for upliftment!

Sending almost 500 Snuggle® Bears to Radio Lollipop, Texas was a great place to start. Thrilling Thursday loaded up their pockets and baskets then headed down to the floors to deliver the ray of Sun-shine to the kiddos. Children we elated as they held what may be the softest snuggly bear! A special thank you to Don Hunter, Sun Products Corporation for making our night!

Here we grow again!

The newest members of Radio Lollipop Texas are kicking the year of right! By making the decision to volunteer weekly with rockin tunes and cool friends! Terrific Tuesday, Wacky Wednesday and Thrilling Thursday are please to announce the arrival of Heather McMeans, Aubrie Tabrizi, Danese Brinson, Ginny Olson, and Jenice Cobbs. The Fantastic Five just completed training and will be coming to a floor near you this week so don’t block the door.

Disney voluntears are a favourite with the kids

A team of volunteers from a local Disney store have hit the ground running with their radio shows at Radio Lollipop Newcastle.

The monthly Disney night, during which the volunteers give out Disney prizes, play Disney songs and organise Disney competitions have been a huge hit. Themes so far have included Disney Heroes, Disney Christmas and Disney New Year.

The team are part of a scheme run by Disney called Disney VoluntEARS. The mission of Disney VoluntEARS is to develop opportunities for Disney employees to contribute their personal time, expertise and effort to make a positive impact on our community while furthering the traditions and ideals of The Walt Disney Company.

Disney night will continue following Radio Lollipop’s move to the Great North Children’s Hospital – look out for the gang on the first Wednesday of every month!.

Junior footballers raise money for radio lollipop

During the off season the “Straddie Sharks 2009 Under 11’s rugby league side” and The Twort Family have been shaking donation tins on Stradbroke Island where the Big Red Cat and the Stadbroke Ferries dock at Dunwich on Stradbroke Island raising much needed funds for Radio Lollipop.

Radio Lollipop has just received a donation of $1106.40 that has started our 2010 fundraising with a blast.

Our sincere thanks go to all involved for giving up their Summer Saturday’s to raise money for other children not so fortunate as themselves and also to The Big Red Cat Vehicle Ferry and Stradbroke Island Ferries for allowing the parents and children to collect money from the holiday makers visiting Stradbroke Island for a summer holiday.

We hope to keep this relationship with the Junior Rugby League side and Under 12’s team this year as well as the Twort Family to assist with continued fundraising activities for 2010.

Special thanks to Peter Twort and his family who first approached us after meeting one of our volunteers when his son was in hospital to assist our organization to raise funds.

We wish the Straddie Sharks U12’s team all the very best for your upcoming 2010 season.
