Mr happy returns to the mater children’s hospital

It was another Thrilling Thursday last week when Mr Happy returned to Radio Lollipop at the Mater Children’s Hospital to see the children.

Mr Happy the Clown has been a regular visitor to Radio Lollipop for over 15 years. His regular visits always bring lots of laughter and bright smiles from the children and the volunteers.

Mr Happy and his bag of magic tricks went around to all the wards visiting the children and mesmerizing many who couldn’t work out how Mr Happy could pull carrots and 50 cent coins from behind their ears.

One young regular patient was recently given a magic kit from her aunt and Mr Happy was able to show her how to use a couple of the tricks, this bought great excitement to our young patient and her parents.

Check out Mr Happy with our Thrilling Thursday Crew. Thanks Mr Happy we all love your visits.

Automated warehouses supports radio lollipop queensland

James Thomson, Managing Director of Automated Warehouses in Brisbane has come to the rescue of Radio Lollipop Queensland by donating heavy duty warehouse shelving for use in the new Radio Lollipop storage facility.

In the past Radio Lollipop Queensland has stored excess equipment and stock at various Radio Lollipop volunteer homes throughout the local area. In October 2010, the Department of Public Works generously provided Radio Lollipop with an unused storage facility to store all its equipment.

Automated Warehouses were approached to help out with shelving. James very generously donated his time and the heavy duty storage shelving to allow Radio Lollipop Queensland to properly and safely store all its equipment and allow easy access to retrieve the equipment and stock.

On behalf of all the Radio Lollipop Queensland volunteers who can now use their garages and spare rooms again, thank you to James and his team for their extreme generosity.

If you are looking for automated warehousing or pallet racking solutions please contact James at james@automatedwarehouses.com.au or check out the website at www.automatedwarefhouses.com.au or call 0405 327 374.

Check out the photo of just a small section of the storage. Thanks also to volunteers Michael, Glenn and David for helping in the installation of the shelving.

Hello kitty comes to edinburgh

Hello Kitty and her friend Gormiti paid a visit to the children at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh last night.

Following on from her stop at Radio Lollipop Newcastle, Kitty made it to Scotland and her first stop was Edinburgh. She gave every child a present and had her photo taken with them all as well. Lolli and Gormiti were on hand to help too of course.

The volunteers at Radio Lollipop Edinburgh would like to thank Sanrio for their support and hope Hello Kitty might pop in again to see us soon!

Wa police donate to radio lollipop!

The inaugural Police Remembrance Ride, known as the Wall to Wall Ride for Remembrance, was completed in September last year with more than 30 WA Police employees and supporters riding across Australia and raising more than $150,000 for Princess Margaret Hospital with a $10,000 donation being made to Radio Lollipop.

WA Police Commissioner Karl O’Callaghan and WA Police Minister Rob Johnson visited PMH’s Radio Lollipop studio early in February to present the cheque.

Mr O’Callaghan, aka DJ Commish, also spent some time practicing his hula-hooping skills and speaking on the radio with volunteers and patients.

Funds will be used to boost craft supplies, games and prizes for the children.
