Soccer fever at radio lollipop

Wacky Wednesday Team at the Mater Hospital were struck with Soccer Fever as we were visited from the coaches at Ginger Sport. Ginger Sport have been kind supporters of our monthly prize program donating a $150 voucher for a Soccer party and also brought along some great giveaways for the visit to the hospital.
The visit was split in two with the Ginger Sport Mascot visiting children bedside for some warm cuddles and hi-fives where the children will receive a photo as a memento of this visit. We also took some more active children to the play area where they were taught some soccer skills and also witness to Coach Marcus special soccer tricks.
I think we have some future soccer stars in the making visiting us at the Mater and we thank Ginger Sport for making this an extra special night for the Wacky Wednesday team.
A huge Thank-you to Coach Dave and Coach Marcus for coming to the hospital for this visit and to Ben and the team at Ginger Sport for co-ordinating this visit and the kind donations.

Volunteer training day at radio lollipop manchester!

The first Volunteer Training Day was held at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH) on Saturday 10th November. This was for all volunteers and applicants who are based at Radio Lollipop Manchester.

During the day, participants designed some brand new, fun filled activities for use on the wards of the RMCH. Look out for them during our volunteer sessions over the next few weeks!

An introduction to balloon modelling was also provided for everyone. Make sure that you test the skills of our volunteers whilst they are on your ward!

Overall, the event was a huge success with positive feedback from several participants. We are aiming to hold another day in the New Year.

Radio lollipop birmingham’s devilish halloween fun

Radio Lollipop monsters and witches rattled around the wards this Halloween. In the lead up to Halloween, the Wednesday Crew made scary masks, decorations and pictures and on the 31st October, they painted the faces of patients and their siblings. Staff and parents were spooked by their children transforming into vampires, ghouls and even Frankenstein!

And it wasn’t just the patients getting creative…some lucky Radio Lollipop volunteers had their faces painted by the children!

The adventrues of miss lollipop in brisbane!

Well well well! Lollipop Day in Brisbane was held on October 13th supporting the Logan and Mater Hospitals and it was a huge success!

With volunteers stationed all throughout Brisbane and many people buying big Lollipops we managed to raise over $13, 000!

On the day, Miss Lollipop traveled around to visit the different sites. She always had a big smile and was ready to give as many High-Fives as needed! Check out the picture to see her at various shopping centers having a great time with some of our volunteers.

A big thank you to all who donated their time or spare change to help make Lollipop Day so fun and successful! See you next year!
