Lollipop Bristol’s Big Christmas Giveaway

On a mission to spread some festive cheer, Lollipop volunteers at the Royal Bristol Children’s Hospital took to the wards to deliver presents as part of this year’s Christmas Giveaway.

On Saturday 21st December, the Lollipop elves delivered Christmas goody bags filled with themed stickers, activities, crayons, and craft activities to children of all ages. Back in the playroom the fun continued with more festive fun and games.

Accompanying the 2 hour event was a special radio show hosted by the Lollipop DJs who played Christmas songs, read Christmas stories and launched competitions with lots of Christmassy prizes.

So from all of us at Radio Lollipop Bristol… Ho Ho Ho and Merrrrrry Christmas!

Lollistock 2013 rocks the Thunderbolt

On Wednesday 18th December, Radio Lollipop Bristol held its first music festival, raising £191.

Held at the infamous Thunderbolt music venue, Lollistock 2013 featured local bands and artists who all came together to play for one night only.

The first act on stage was Lollipop’s very own Richard O’Sullivan, who proved he can do more than just play the music live on air. Followed by Alex Taylor and Lauren & The Skylites, the show kept the audience singing and dancing with a full three hours of entertainment. Performing the final set was Lollipop advocate Sam Evans and his band playing acoustic melodies, covers and even a Christmas song. A rendition of ‘Dry your Eyes’, the Radio Lollipop charity single written and released by Ollie Garland, was performed by Richard O’Sullivan and Sam Evans to close the show with a bang.

On the night Radio Lollipop volunteers and a team from Lloyds TSB were on hand to collect ticket money, sell lollipops and shake buckets all to raise as much money as possible.

Lollistock 2013 proved that Radio Lollipop really does rock!

Christmas donation to Radio Lollipop Gold Coast

In December, Radio Lollipop Australia Director Sandra Ursino met with mum Allie and her daughter Eve to accept a very generous Christmas donation for Radio Lollipop Gold Coast.

Allie and Eve live on the Gold Coast and had contacted Radio Lollipop to see how they could support the charity. This time of year especially, there is always a need for new games and toys that can be given to a child to keep them entertained whilst in hospital, particularly as many non-essential hospital services close at this time of year.

Allie put out the word to her family and friends and started collecting new games and toys as well as craft supplies for Radio Lollipop Gold Coast.

Allie said the response was overwhelming and she was still taking delivery of items right up until the time she delivered them to the hospital.

A huge Radio Lollipop thank you to Allie, Eve and their family and friends for making a big difference to the lives of sick children on the Gold Coast this Christmas.
