Radio Lollipop in Bristol Celebrating 31 Years!

Happy Happy Birthday to the Radio Lollipop Team in Bristol celebrating 31 amazing years of providing care, comfort, play and entertainment to children and young people and their families at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.

To celebrate the team organised a Superhero Themed Birthday Bash at the Hospital, which took place on Saturday 26 September.17 children and their families came along to the play room and Radio Lollipop studio to join in the fun activities.  Our Super Hero Lolli Vollies also went out on to the wards accompanied by Super Hobble to entertain everyone and give out superhero themed goody bags! It was lollipoptastic!

Kate Harris, Bristol Lolliboss, aka Radio Lollipop Girl said “Thank you to all volunteers past and present for your support and dedication to the charity. And a mahoosive thank you to my current team of super duper volunteers for bringing lots of smiles and laughter to the children and their families.  Here’s to another year of lollipoptastic fun!”

Radio Lollipop at PMH in Perth, WA enjoy a visit from a galaxy far, far away

Radio Lollipop at PMH in Perth, WA was recently visited by some amazing people from a galaxy far, far away.
The visitors, from The 501st Legion, were:
Stuart – Darth Vader
Amanda – Juno Eclipse
Glen – Stormtrooper
Arwen – TIE Pilot
Tex – Jedi

Arwen told us:
The 501st Legion: Vader’s Fist are the “bad guys doing good”. We’re a world wide Star Wars Costuming fan club with over eight thousand members and a strong focus on charity and community appearances (though we also love birthdays and weddings!) We are completely volunteer and non-for-profit. No one is paid to attend an event as a member of the 501st, members create their own, screen accurate costumes. We love Star Wars and the imagination it excites in the young or reawakens in the not so young. We love visiting hospitals and entertaining the kids and families, and having fun with the Radio Lollipop staff!

Thanks for your visit guys, you made the day a lot brighter and more fun for the kids at PMH!
