CareFlight supports Radio Lollipop and donates hundreds of bears

Aeromedical charity CareFlight has provided ongoing support to Radio Lollipop over the years, including brightening the hospital experience for many children with the donation of hundreds of bears to Radio Lollipop studios in Queensland hospitals.

Thanks to the kind donation from CareFlight, the Gold Coast, Logan and Brisbane Radio Lollipop studios filled up with more than 200 CareFlight bears this year before finding homes with the children in hospital.

The Gold Coast also had a visit from CareFlight’s mascot bear, Chief, who visited the wards with Radio Lollipop volunteers to deliver bears and give high fives. The children were delighted to make room on their hospital bed for their new bears, with the astronaut and alien themed bears being among the favourites.

Radio Lollipop are grateful to CareFlight for their kind donations and continuing support. The bears are a great comfort and distraction to the children in hospital.

Singer Jacob Lee visits the children at the Gold Coast Hospital

Jacob Lee, singer and former contestant of The Voice, visited Radio Lollipop Gold Coast studio and performed by the children’s bedsides.

Jacob’s performance had the children, parents, volunteers and nurses dancing and singing along to songs requested by the children.

The children and volunteers interviewed him on the radio and the children also enjoyed dancing to the songs he sang from his new album.

Jacob has previously visited the Radio Lollipop Brisbane studio to sing to the children at the Lady Cilento Hospital. There are always plenty of smiles and dancing when he comes to visit.

The Qld Radio Lollipop volunteers would like to thank Jacob for his ongoing support and for taking the time over the past of couple years to perform to the children at both the Lady Cilento and Gold Coast Hospitals.
