Pudsey comes good to the tune of £20k
11 April 2008

Radio Lollipop Newcastle are pleased to announce that the Trustees of Children in Need have donated a huge chunk of the funds we need for our new studio development in Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary.

The £19,965 grant will cover the cost of the basic Radio Lollipop studio and additional sensory features such as mood lighting and a data projector to encourage the children to visit and enjoy the new studio.

Newcastle fundraiser Kate Fenwick says of the grant,

“it is fantastic news for us. It means we can keep our minds on the real business of working one-on-one with the children who need us, without having the fear of not being able to afford to move next year looming over our heads. This one grant, is a massive, massive boost to morale for the volunteers and the children. Everyone’s talking about how fantastic it will be to see the new studio and the kids are really looking forward to it now”.

Thanks must go to Derek Overton, Dave Mason and John Wagget who invested their time and support to make sure the application went smoothly and of course to Pudsey Bear, who recognised the importance of the work we are doing week in, week out.

We look forward to seeing you all at the launch of the new studio in early 2009!
