Well it is that time again here in the North East of England when over 50,000 people run 13.1 miles from Newcastle to South Shields for the Great North Run.  Many of whom raise a huge sum of money for charity.

Whether they run in fancy dress, t-shirts or running vests just like two of our volunteers are wearing in the photos (many thanks to Christopher S and Christopher T for their demonstration) it is a wonderful achievement for every single person who crosses the finishing line – be it in an hour or six hours.  

Radio Lollipop Newcastle will be tracking our ten runners progress through the day (and minute by minute) and a huge welcome will be waiting for them at the end.
