On the 14th July 1982 Radio Lollipop Newcastle was launched in the Fleming Memorial Children’s Hospital prior to its move to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in 1988 and then a transfer to the Great North Children’s Hospital. However, former staff of the Fleming have never forgotten Radio Lollipop and during a recent reunion decided to raffle a tile which had been donated and the proceeds given to Radio Lollipop Newcastle. The tile had been inspired by an original watercolour by a local artist and is a beautiful representation of the original building.
We are incredibly grateful for such long lasting support as it shows how much regard Radio Lollipop Newcastle has been and is held in the local communtiy.
