Hope4Health Supports Radio Lollipop Gold Coast

Hope4Health has once again selected Radio Lollipop Gold Coast as their chosen charity this year, with all proceeds from their annual Op Shop Ball donated directly to our organisation. The event successfully raised $600, which will be put towards new crafts, games, balloons and welcome packs – all the essentials for our Radio Lollipop volunteers to help put the cheer back into kids in hospital.

As a non-profit organisation, Hope4Health is a 1,000 member strong charity which aims to improve health outcomes for local, rural, indigenous and international communities. Hope4Health also host other fantastic fundraising events throughout the year to support other causes.

Special thanks to Alistair McCombe and Cameron Harrison for organising this donation and for their support.

Christmas donation to Radio Lollipop Gold Coast

In December, Radio Lollipop Australia Director Sandra Ursino met with mum Allie and her daughter Eve to accept a very generous Christmas donation for Radio Lollipop Gold Coast.

Allie and Eve live on the Gold Coast and had contacted Radio Lollipop to see how they could support the charity. This time of year especially, there is always a need for new games and toys that can be given to a child to keep them entertained whilst in hospital, particularly as many non-essential hospital services close at this time of year.

Allie put out the word to her family and friends and started collecting new games and toys as well as craft supplies for Radio Lollipop Gold Coast.

Allie said the response was overwhelming and she was still taking delivery of items right up until the time she delivered them to the hospital.

A huge Radio Lollipop thank you to Allie, Eve and their family and friends for making a big difference to the lives of sick children on the Gold Coast this Christmas.

Tallebudgera Lions Club Supports Radio Lollipop Gold Coast

The Tallebudgera Lions Club has helped Radio Lollipop continue to put smiles on sick kids’ faces by making a generous donation to Radio Lollipop Gold Coast.

The Club invited Radio Lollipop Gold Coast Chairperson Martine Simonds and PR Officer Jaime Siu to a recent Club event and cheerfully presented them with a $250 donation. Club President Steve Marlor and Treasurer Roy Mitchell expressed great interest towards Radio Lollipop Gold Coast, with one of the members asking the volunteers for the Radio Lollipop wish list. “We support the local community first and it was a unanimous decision to go ahead and support the good work of Radio Lollipop volunteers,” Mr Mitchell said.

Radio Lollipop is completely self-funded by community donations and all funds go directly to running programs and craft activities to cheer up sick children in hospital. The Lions Club donation will help Radio Lollipop lift children’s spirits each weeknight at the Gold Coast Hospital.

The Gold Coast team is also currently fundraising for a big transition from the Southport Hospital Campus to the brand new Gold Coast University Hospital in late September this year. If you would like to help, please donate via rldo.radiolollipop.org/donate

Thank you to all the members of the Tallebudgera Lions Club for your support.
